Welcome to the Travelhers App!
These Community Guidelines apply to all members of Travelhers Limited (trading as Travelhers), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14443611 with registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ (referred to in these Community Guidelines as “Travelhers”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1. DEFINITIONS
1.1 In these Community Guidelines:
(a) “App” means the mobile application, website and any related digital services operated by Travelhers;
(b) “Community” means the private membership community operated by Travelhers through the App and any related events, activities, trips, communications or services;
(c) “Community Guidelines” means these Community guidelines standards and code of conduct, as amended from time to time;
(d) “Member”, “you” or “your” means any person who has been admitted as a member of the Community and whose membership remains active; and
(e) “Membership” means the personal, non-transferable status granted by Travelhers to an individual who has been admitted as a Member of the Community in accordance with Travelhers’ Terms.
(f) “Terms” means Travelhers’ terms and conditions governing your access to and use of the App, your Membership and your participation in the Community, as amended from time to time.
2. PURPOSE
2.1 Travelhers is a curated, membership-based community for women who share an interest in travel, culture, meaningful connection and shared experiences.
2.2 These Community Guidelines govern your conduct when using the App, communicating with other Members, participating in the Community and attending or arranging any activity, event or trip connected with the Community. They should be read together with the Terms, Travelhers’ Privacy Policy and any other policies applicable to your Membership, as notified to you from time to time.
2.3 By participating in the Community, each Member agrees to act with respect, integrity, good judgment and consideration for the safety and wellbeing of others.
3. OUR COMMUNITY PRINCIPLES
The Travelhers Community is founded on the following principles:
3.1 RESPECT
Members must treat each other with courtesy, dignity and consideration. Differences in background, experience, opinion, culture and lifestyle should be approached constructively and respectfully.
3.2 INCLUSIVITY
Members should contribute to a welcoming environment in which others can participate without fear of hostility, humiliation, harassment or exclusion.
3.3 TRUST
Members must communicate honestly, present themselves authentically and act in a manner that supports confidence within the community.
3.4 SAFETY
Members are expected to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others, particularly when arranging or attending in-person meetings, activities or travel.
3.5 POSITIVE PARTICIPATION
Members should contribute in good faith, support constructive engagement and avoid conduct that undermines the purpose, reputation or integrity of the community.
4. STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
4.1 Members must:
(a) communicate respectfully and avoid aggressive, intimidating, demeaning or deliberately provocative behaviour;
(b) respect the privacy, personal boundaries, decisions and preferences of other Members;
(c) accept that another Member may decline a connection request, invitation, message, activity request or other form of engagement;
(d) avoid repeated or unwanted contact where another Member has declined, withdrawn or failed to respond;
(e) provide accurate and honest information when posting content, creating activities or communicating with others;
(f) act responsibly when organising or participating in trips, events, meetings and other activities;
(g) comply with applicable laws, venue rules, travel requirements and reasonable safety instructions;
(h) communicate material changes, cancellations, costs, risks or conditions relating to an activity as soon as reasonably practicable;
(i) deal fairly and transparently with other Members in relation to shared expenses, bookings, tickets or financial arrangements; and
(j) report conduct that presents a credible safety, fraud or community-integrity concern.
5. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
5.1 Members must not use the App or participate in the Community to:
(a) harass, threaten, bully, stalk, intimidate or abuse another person;
(b) engage in discriminatory, hateful or degrading conduct;
(c) make unwanted sexual comments, propositions or advances;
(d) impersonate another person or misrepresent their identity, intentions, qualifications, circumstances or affiliations;
(e) copy, screenshot, photograph, record, reproduce, download, disclose, distribute or otherwise share outside the Travelhers App any content, information or materials relating to another Member, including details of their travel plans, trips, activities, location or participation in any event, without that Member’s prior express consent;
(f) publish false, fraudulent, misleading or materially incomplete information;
(g) pressure, manipulate or coerce another Member into meeting, travelling, paying money, sharing information or participating in an activity;
(h) exploit another Member financially, commercially, emotionally or otherwise;
(i) request or share passwords, banking details, identity documents or other sensitive information without a legitimate and lawful reason;
(j) solicit money, loans, investments, donations or financial assistance;
(k) promote unauthorised commercial services, recruitment schemes, multi-level marketing, political campaigning or fundraising;
(l) distribute spam, malware, harmful links or unsolicited promotional material;
(m) publish or share unlawful, defamatory, obscene, violent, threatening or otherwise inappropriate content;
(n) encourage illegal, dangerous or reckless conduct;
(o) interfere with the operation or security of the App;
(p) misuse the reporting, blocking, messaging or activity features; or
(q) attempt to circumvent a restriction, suspension, removal or other enforcement measure.
The obligations, restrictions and standards of conduct set out in these Community Guidelines apply whenever you access or use the Travelhers App, interact or participate with other Members of the Travelhers Community, or attend, organise or participate in any activity, event, trip or other experience made available through the Travelhers App or arranged by you or another Member in connection with the Travelhers Community.
6. MEMBER PROFILES AND CONTENT
6.1 Members are responsible for the content they publish or share through the App.
6.2 Posted content must:
(a) be accurate and not misleading;
(b) be relevant to the Community and the purpose for which it is posted;
(c) respect the rights, privacy and reputation of others;
(d) not contain confidential or personal information about another person without appropriate permission; and
(e) comply with applicable law and these Community Guidelines.
6.3 Members must not publish photographs, recordings, private messages, location details or other identifiable information relating to another Member without that Member’s consent.
6.4 Content that breaches these Community Guidelines may be removed without notice.
7. CONNECTIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS
7.1 Every Member has complete discretion over whether to connect or communicate with another Member.
7.2 Members must respect:
(a) declined or unanswered connection requests;
(b) requests to stop communicating;
(c) blocking or privacy preferences;
(d) decisions not to attend or continue with an activity; and
(e) personal, cultural, professional and physical boundaries.
7.3 A connection through the App does not imply trust, endorsement, friendship, consent to meet, or consent to communicate outside the App.
7.4 Members should exercise appropriate caution before sharing personal contact details, home addresses, financial information, travel documents or real-time location information.
8. ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND TRAVEL
8.1 Members who publish or organise an activity must act responsibly and in good faith.
8.2 Organising Members should provide clear and accurate information, including where relevant:
(a) the nature and purpose of the activity;
(b) the date, time and location;
(c) expected costs and payment arrangements;
(d) capacity limits or participation criteria;
(e) known accessibility considerations;
(f) material risks or restrictions; and
(g) any changes, postponements or cancellations.
8.3 Members must not describe an activity in a manner that is misleading or likely to create a false impression of safety, endorsement, availability or cost.
8.4 Participation in an activity is voluntary. No Member should pressure another Member to attend, remain at, pay for or continue participating in an activity.
8.5 Members should make their own independent travel, insurance, accommodation, transport and safety arrangements where appropriate.
9. PERSONAL SAFETY
9.1 Members are expected to use sound judgment when interacting with others, particularly when meeting in person or travelling together. Reasonable precautions may include:
(a) meeting initially in a public place;
(b) informing a trusted person of travel or meeting plans;
(c) independently confirming bookings, identities and arrangements;
(d) maintaining access to personal transport, funds and communication;
(e) avoiding substantial payments to another Member without appropriate verification;
(f) protecting passports, identity documents, financial details and account credentials; and
(g) leaving any interaction or activity that feels unsafe or inappropriate.
9.2 Where there is an immediate risk of harm, Members should contact the emergency services or another appropriate authority.
9.3 Reporting a concern to Travelhers is not a substitute for contacting the police, emergency services or relevant professional support.
10. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
10.1 Members must respect the confidential and personal nature of Community interactions.
10.2 Information shared within the Community must not be copied, published, forwarded, recorded or disclosed outside the Community without appropriate consent, except where disclosure is reasonably necessary to report unlawful conduct, protect a person from harm or comply with a legal obligation.
10.3 Members must not use information obtained through the App to harass, identify, track, investigate or contact another Member outside the context in which that information was provided.
11. COMMERCIAL AND PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITY
11.1 The community is intended primarily for genuine social, cultural and travel-related participation.
11.2 Members must not use the App primarily to:
(a) advertise goods or services;
(b) generate sales leads;
(c) recruit customers, employees, contractors or investors;
(d) promote paid events, travel packages or commercial ventures; or
(e) conduct surveys, research or data collection,
unless Travelhers has given its prior written approval.
11.3 Approved commercial activity must be transparent, lawful and clearly identified.
12. REPORTING CONCERNS
12.1 Members can report conduct that breaches these Community Guidelines, including concerns relating to harassment, fraud, safety, impersonation, inappropriate content or misuse of personal information.
12.2 If you wish to make a report or complaint about another Member or any activity on the App, you may do so by contacting us through the App’s support function. You may also block another Member using the functionality provided within the App.
12.3 Reports should be made honestly and include sufficient information to allow the concern to be reviewed.
12.4 Members must not knowingly make false, malicious or misleading reports.
12.5 If you have been blocked by another Member and believe there is an issue requiring our attention, you may contact us through the App’s support function. We may review the circumstances and, where appropriate, take such steps as we consider reasonably necessary in relation to the App, your Account, another Member’s Account or compliance with our Terms or these Community Guidelines.
12.6 We do not generally monitor, control or arbitrate personal interactions or disputes between Members. Except where a matter relates to the use or functionality of the App, a breach of our Terms or these Community Guidelines, or otherwise requires action by us in connection with the App or Community, Members are responsible for managing and resolving their own interactions and disputes.
13. ENFORCEMENT
13.1 Where Travelhers reasonably believes that a Member has breached these Community Guidelines, it may take proportionate action, including:
(a) issuing guidance or a warning;
(b) removing that Member’s access to the App and the Community;
(c) temporarily suspending an account;
(d) terminating Membership; or
(e) referring the matter to an appropriate authority.
13.2 In deciding what action to take, Travelhers may consider the seriousness of the conduct, the risk of harm, whether the behaviour was repeated, the Member’s previous conduct and any relevant explanation or evidence.
13.3 Serious conduct may result in immediate termination of the Membership.
14. SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
14.1 Travelhers seeks to maintain a supportive and trusted community, but every Member contributes to the culture and safety of that community.
14.2 Membership, profile approval or access to the App does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any Member’s conduct, identity, compatibility, reliability or suitability.
14.3 Members remain responsible for their own decisions, communications, arrangements and interactions with others.
15. CHANGES TO THESE GUIDELINES
15.1 Travelhers may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes to the App, the community, applicable law or safety practices.
15.2 Members will be informed of material changes in accordance with the Terms. Continued use of the App following the effective date of any updated guidelines constitutes acceptance of those guidelines, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
